Frequently Asked Question
I wanted to provide you with a few instructions so we can ensure that you check all your things off your list to secure Fall 2025 housing.
Please see below the Fall housing requirements for all incoming first-year students:
- Must be registered for 15 credit hours
- Must pay a non-refundable $250 housing deposit
- Complete housing application
- Select room assignment
Payment process:
Go to www.fmu.edu
In the top right-hand corner, hover over the word LOGIN
Scroll down to myFMU and select it.
Login with your FMU credentials.
Click on the link to complete your steps on making your $250 housing deposit.
Note: If you are local, you can stop by our campus's bursar's office and make the payment in person.

After making the payment
Send a screenshot of the payment to resident.life@fmu.edu
This will inform the housing staff of the opening of your housing application
This is not an automated process; if you do not communicate with the housing department, the payment you made will be applied to your account balance.
Housing application process:
In the myFMU portal, click on the Residence Life Tab. Scroll down to the section that reads Housing Application. Complete the housing application as soon as possible.
